His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has praised the achievements of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority following his visit to its stand at Dubai Government’s Achievements Exhibition 2011 organized by Dubai Government Excellence Programme at Dubai World Trade Center.

During the visit to DEWA’s stand, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied by H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer MD & CEO of DEWA, Dr. Yousef Al Akraf. EVP – Business Support at DEWA and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the exhibition, as well as a number of EVP’s and top officials of DEWA.

H.E. Saeed Al Tayer has given a presentation about services and projects of power and water sector, and briefed H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed on the new projects including control centres at Warsan and Al Qusais, as well as Hassyan Project I, which is the first independent power plant in partnership with the private sector.

Moreover, His Highness was briefed on some of DEWA’s achievements and most up-to-date technologies, which are being considered for implementation including clean coal technologies in power generation, and the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence and many more.

Also, H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer has briefed His Highness on international awards received by DEWA including the Hall of Fame Award in strategic planning, The Sword of Honor in Safety and Health, and other prestigious world-class awards.
Engineer Matar Suhail Al Mehairi, SR. Manager – Assets Management – Power Distribution Division, has made a presentation on the cable testing and diagnosis vehicle. This vehicle detects any existing faults that may cause damage to electrical cables.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan has praised DEWA’s achievements and progress and its pioneering position at both regional and global levels. Following the visit, H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer was delighted that His Highness’s visited DEWA’s stand and praised its world-class achievements which have always been in line with the vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the directives of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Chairman of DEWA.
