يشتهر صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم بحبه العميق للخيول وتعلقه اللافت بها. وسموه الذي ينحدر من إحدى أشهر وأعز القبائل في الجزيرة العربية وهي قبيلة بني ياس، فإن الخيول والفروسية تشكل جزءا مهما من حياته منذ اليفاع.

كما ان العادات والتقاليد البدوية ذات أهمية محورية في التراث العربي الأصيل الذي نهل منه سموه. وبما أن الصحراء تمثل بيئة مليئة بالتحديات، فضلا عن قسوتها، فإن القدرة على العيش في تناغم مع الطبيعة كانت أمرا حيويا بالنسبة لسكان الإقليم. صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم عندما كان صغيرا تعلم كيف يقرأ رمال الصحراء، وكيف يقتفي أثر بعير من بين قطيع يضم مئات الإبل، وكيف يفهم إيقاع الطبيعة حتى يكون في حالة انسجام ووحدة مع مخلوقات الصحراء.

وبمعزل عن قدرة سموه الفائقة في تعقب العقارب والثعابين والإمساك بها، وتأديب وتدريب الصقور وكلاب الصيد، إلا أن الخيول هي التي استأثرت بالنصيب الأوفر من عهود الصبا في حياة صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم. فقد كان سموه يتقاسم وجبه إفطاره مع الخيول وهو في طريقه الى المدرسة، وقد شارك سموه في السباقات لأول مرة وهو في الثانية عشرة من عمره، وكان سموه ينجذب كالمغنطيس نحو الخيول الجامحة حيث اكتسب شهرة واسعة في السيطرة على الخيول البرية العصية والتي كانت تعتبر غير قابلة للتأديب وللتدريب في نظر الآخرين!

لقد كان صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم في التاسعة من عمره عندما توفي جده حاكم دبي الشيخ سعيد بن مكتوم آل مكتوم وكان سموه قريبا من جده الراحل على نحو خاص. الحاكم الجديد لإمارة دبي الشيخ راشد بن سعيد آل مكتوم، والد الشيخ محمد، بدأ في إعداد أبنائه لخدمة وطنهم. وفي عام 1966 سافر صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم للدارسة في كامبريدج بالمملكة المتحدة وسكن مع أسرة انجليزية وكانت سباقات الخيل والقضايا التاريخية محورا للنقاش مع أفراد تلك الأسرة حيث كان يحلو لسموه أن يقول لمضيفيه بأن اكبر الفحول تأثيرا في سباقات الخيل البريطانية كان خيلا عربيا اسمه (جودلفين أرابيان).

كل هذا الحب للفروسية في قلب سمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، جعل من نجله سمو الشيخ حمدان فارساً عربياً إستثنائياً، كيف لا وهو نجل فارس العرب، وتربى على حب الفروسية منذ الصغر حتى أصبح اليوم فارساً تشهد له ميادين الفروسية في كل مكان.

إنجازات سمو الشيخ حمدان في الفروسية:

• في 7 أغسطس 1999 حل سموه بالمركز الثاني في سباق لينزبيرج للقدرة بسويسرا.

• في التاسع من يوليو 2000 تمكن سموه من انتزاع سباق تاترسالز للقدرة بنيوماركت لمسافة 140كلم.

• في 26 يوليو 2000 تمكن سموه على صهوة " كريتال فلاير" بالمركز الثاني في السباق لكاس آل مكتوم بايرلندا لمسافة200 كلم.

• في 29سبتمبر عام 2001 تمكن سموه في بطولة أوروبا المفتوحة للقدرة لمسافة 160 كلم بمنطقة بروجيا الايطالية من انتزاع الميدالية الذهبية في مسابقة الفردي بعد أن احتل المركز الثاني.

• في الثامن من سبتمبر تمكن من انتزاع ذهبية العالم للشباب في مسابقة الفردي.

• في 19 مايو 2002 حل سموه بالمركز الثاني في بطولة بونشستاون للقدرة لمسافة 120 كلم.

• استهل سموه مشاركيه على الساحة الأوروبية في صيف 2002 بانتزاع لقب كاس الملك باسبانيا.

• في 14أغسطس 2002 توج سموه بطلا لبطولة كاس آل مكتوم للقدرة لمسافة120كلم.

• في 29 يونيو 2002 تمكن من انتزاع لقب بطولة فيا كستين للقدرة باسبانيا لمسافة 120كلم.

• استهل سموه مشاركته على الساحة الأوروبية في 27 يونيو الماضي بانتزاع لقب سباق القدرة لمسافة 160كلم نيو وماركت.

• ضمن فعاليات بطولة العالم السابعة للقدرة في ديسمبر 1998 تم تتويج سموه بطلا للموسم المحلي لسباقات القدرة (97/98) وذلك تقديرا لانجازاته المتميزة خلال الموسم و التي من أبرزها فوزه بسباق عمالقة الصحراء الثامن للقدرة لمسافة 120كلم.

• تم تتويجه كأفضل فارس بعد أن تصدر التصنيف العالمي لفرسان القدرة للعام 2000.

• في انجاز تاريخي وغير مسبوق على مستوى العام 2002 سجل سموه فوزا مستحقا ببطولة راشد بن حمدان آل مكتوم للقدرة لمسافة120كلم.

• وعاد في اليوم نفسه ليسجل انجازا تاريخيا في سباقات السرعة منتزعا الفوز بجائزة نادي دبي لسباق الخيل للفرسان الهواة بند الشبا.

إحتلت الإبل مكانة مرموقة عند الإنسان العربي، ولايزال لها من ذلك حظ وفير عند كثير من الناس في العصرالحاضر، فعلاقته بها علاقة قديمة تضرب بجذورها في أعماق التاريخ، حيث إستطاع تدجينها منذ عصور موغلة في القدم إلى نحو أربعين قرناً، وتمتاز بأنها يمكنها مواصلة الركض بسرعة تصل إلى 16 كيلومتر في الساعة بصفة مستمرة لمدة 18 ساعة في كل مرة، وهذا معدل لا يحققه أي حيوان آخر. والدليل على أهميتها ذكرها في القرآن الكريم في أكثر من مكان ليبين الله تعاى قدرته في الخلق، ولإبراز مكونات هذا الحيوان العجيب الذي سخره لخدمة الإنسان.

وترتبط الإبل بصاحبها إرتباطاً وثيقاً تشعر بالإعتياد والألفة، فهي علاقة حميمية متينة وطدتها الحاجة، لأن المسألة النفسية بينه وبين الإبل شيء أساسي في إنجاح العلاقة بينهما، وجعل كل منهما يشعر بالراحة مع الآخر وكأنه صديق حميم. ويبلغ الإندماج بين المرء وناقته وبين الناقو وصاحبها أن يصل بهما الأمر إلى الشعور بما ينتاب كل واحد منهما من إحساس، لم لا؟ فهي رفيقة الحل والترحال، تصاحبه ليلاً نهاراً ولا سيما أن حياة العربي تدعوه إلى التنقل بإستمرار بحثاً عن الكلأ والمرعى.

وعلاقة سمو الشيخ حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم بالإبل علاقة حميمة، وهو من اهم الداعمين لهذه الرياضة في الدولة، حيث يحرص سموه على متابعة جميع السباقات التي تقام في الدولة، وتربط سموه بالإبل علاقة عشق من نوع خاص حيث أنشأ سموه إسطبلاته الخاصة بالهجن ومضمار خاص لها لمسافة 8 كيلومترات لتؤدي التدريبات جميعها في العزبة، كما أنشأ حوض سباحة وميزاناًخاصاً للنوق، ويذكر مدرب ومضمر هجن سموه حمد بن غدير أن الهجن تميز صوت سمو الشيخ حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم وفي أثناء السباق تزيد سرعة الناقة عند سماعها لصوت سموه,، وهكذا حققت هجن سمو المراكز الأولى في سباقات الخيل التي تقام في دبي، أبوظبي وقطر.

His highness Mohammad Bin Rashed AL-Maktoom is famous in his deep love of horses. His highness who is one of the greatest and most famous families Arabian Peninsula
which is Bani yass . Horses and horse racing are Considered as an important part in his life.

The Bedouin heritage and traditions have a great importance in Original Arab Heritage Which his highness took From . As for desert , It considered an environment that is Full of challenges and cruelty and The ability to live in harmony with nature was something biological as for the region 's people. when His highness sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid AL-Maktoum was a child , he learnt how to read the Sand of the desert . He Learnt how to follow the camel way among a group contains hundreds of camels . He also learnt how to understand nature to adapt with nature creatures.

Although the super ability of his highness in Following snakes ,catching them , training Falcons and hunting dogs , the horses took the biggest part of his youth in the life of his highness sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashed AL- Maktoom.
His highness divided his breakfast with horses in his way to school. His highness participated in horse racing at the first time when he was twelve years Old . His highness was attracted as a magnetic towards horses in which he took a great reputation in controlling difficult horses which were considered to be unable to control or be trained in others opinions!

H.H.Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum was 9 years old , when his grandfather , the leader of Dubai , H.H.Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Al-Maktoum passed away . Sheikh Mohammed was close to his grandfather especially. The new Leader of Dubai , H.H.Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed prepared his sons to serve their country .Since 1966 , H.H.Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum travelled for study in Cambridge university in UK and he lived with English family . the horse-races and the historical issues were significantly arguing with that family where H.H.Sheikh Mohammed liked to say that the most influential horse in British horse races was Arabian horse called ' Joldifen Arabian'.

all the love of Equestrian that lives in H.H.Sheikh. Mohammed made his son , H.H.Sheikh. Hamdan an acceptional Arabian knight ..he is the son of Arab Knight , and he was raised on loving Equestrian since childhood untill he became a knight that each Equestrian field witnesses for him in everywhere .

The achievements of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan in Equestrian :

• in August 7, 1999 ,he took the second place in the race for Endurance in Insberj , Switzerland.

• On the ninth day of July 2000, he won in Tatrsalz Bnewmarki for Endurance race at a distance of 140 km.

• in July 26, 2000 , rode his "Krital Flyer" which was ranked second place in the race for the Al Maktoum Cup, Ireland, at a distance of 200 km.

• in September 29, 2001 , in opened- Europe's Endurance at a distance of 160 km in Perugia, Italy, he took the gold medal in the individual competition after he took the second place

• in the eighth of September , he took the world gold of youth in the individual competition.

• in May 19, 2002 , he took the second place in the Championship Bonhestaon Endurance at
a distance of 120 km

• he preceded his participants In Europe , in the summer of 2002 , when he took the title of King's Cup in Spain.

• in August 14, 2002 HH. crowned to be the winner of Al-Maktoum Cup champions of the Endurance at a distance of 120 km.

• in June 29, 2002 , he took the title of the Endurance of Villa Kstin, Spain, at a distance of 120 km.

• He preceded his participation, in the Europe, in the last June 27 , when he gained the title of the race at a distance of 160 miles in New Market.

•Among the seventh World Championship events of the Endurance in December 1998 , he was crowned to be a hero of the local season in Endurance race (97/98), in recognition of significant achievements during the season, when he notably won the eighth race of the giants of the desert of Endurance at a distance of 120 km.

• he was crowned to be the best knight after he became at the top of the global classification of the Endurance knights for the year 2000.

• historically , it is the first time in 2002 , he deservedly won in H.H.Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al-Maktoum Champion of Endurance at a distance of 120 km

• He returned on the same day to record a historic achievement in the speed-races to gain Dubai Racing Club in Nad Al Sheba .

In the Arab world , camel occupied a great and precious role , that still until right now and that was extended throughout 40 centuries ago.

one of the most important feature of the camel that it can running in continuous manner in speed up 16 k/hours for 18 hours in every time , and this rate of speed does not achieved by any animal yet.

the value of camel was mentioned in Quran in more than one place to show
the ability of Allah in creation in our life and to show how they put it to help and serve humanity .

Camels are closely related to their owner , thus , they feel familiarity . this kind of relationship is strong and fixed by need because the psychological matter between him and the camel is something basic in order to succeed the relationship between them . also , both of them feel comfort as if they are friends . this deep relationship makes the camel and his owner feel and know each other feelings .why not ! and it is a friend inside and outside , going with him day and night especially that the Arab life requires him to move continually in order to reach food .

And the relationship of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum With the camel is close relationship, And he is the main support for the sport in the country, where he is interesting to follow up on all the races that are implementing in the State, the relationship between him and the camel is a special kind of love where his stables established for his own Camels ans a special track for a distance of 8 kilometers to perform all the exercises in a alezba . Also he established a pool and balance for the camels. The coach of his camels , Hybridize Hamad bin Gedir , said that the camels distinguish the voice of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during the race , they increased their speed when they heard the voice of his H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed .Thus ,the camels owned by H.H. sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed achieved the first ranks of camel racing that are implemented in the finals in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar.
